Flooring Project Estimator/Manager

Well established commercial flooring company in search of an experienced flooring estimator who will oversee estimating and managing projects. Our primary trade is tile; however, we also work with wood, LVT, and other flooring materials.

Our projects are based across the Pacific Northwest, primarily in the Portland Metro Area, with our office based in SE Portland.

Target projects will range in price from $50k to $500k.

Responsibilities:

  • Source Job Bids and RFP's (mainly online)
  • Review blueprints and contract documents to determine applicability
  • Attend site visits and job walks
  • Perform takeoffs using computer software
  • Compose bids and proposals using computer software
  • Execute contract documents provided by General Contractors
  • Order materials based off your cost estimate
  • Pick up and deliver materials to job sites
  • Process progress invoices and final invoices throughout project completion
  • Compose closeout packages for Owners and GC's upon project completion
  • Be willing to assist in the field when necessary

Requirements:

  • 3+ Years in the construction industry, preferably flooring
o Knowledge of construction industry standards and practices

o Knowledge of the most current flooring systems

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel, Webbrowsing)
  • Proficient Blueprint reading skills
  • Experience in composing changeorders and RFI's a plus
  • Working knowledge of Government contracts and documentation
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass preemployment drug screen
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs


Strong communication skills
  • You will need to communicate with crews, foremen, superintendents, owners, project managers, architects, etc.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish helpful
  • Willing to put in the hours to make sure projects stay on track
