The Senior Manager is responsible for the development of integrated communications and public affairs (C&PA) strategies that support our Schizophrenia portfolio in Neuroscience, including INVEGA SUSTENNA, INVEGA TRINZA, INVEGA HAFYERA and emerging pipeline assets. Working in partnership with business team, the focus is on accelerating growth of our long-acting injectables portfolio to reinforce the value proposition of the brands and help reduce relapse and drive better health outcomes in schizophrenia.

A critical part of the role will be performing business objectives and strategies behind our core products as well as developing strong disease awareness campaigns that reach key stakeholders via direct-to-patient communication efforts, earned media and social media relations. The work also involves issues management, patient storytelling and communications around relevant public policy matters and consumer access.

They will also support market shaping initiatives and anticipated product launches for emerging pipeline assets in Neuroscience. In addition, they would support external and internal communications efforts to reinforce J&J's leadership in Neuroscience and portfolio expansion in mental health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement innovative communication and public affairs strategies and programs in support of brand business objectives for J&J Long-Acting Injectables.
  • Deepen awareness of J&J's commitment to Neuroscience and identify storytelling and engagement opportunities that elevate our schizophrenia portfolio of products with health care professionals.
  • Identify potential brand-related issues and develop proactive issues-management strategies.
  • Build stakeholder trust through proactive advocacy efforts, with a key focus on engaging and supporting the patient advocate communities in serious mental illness.
  • Proactively drive business and Enterprise outcomes by identifying and applying key outcomes metrics to communication practices, and provide insights that drive confidence, integration and alignment. Partner closely with Marketing and Strategy & Insights Center of Excellence to develop metrics and assess impact.
  • Build understanding of current issues in the environment affecting businesses and brands; in partnership with Public Affairs colleagues, develop and implement public affairs strategies that inform and shape belief, action, behavior, and advocacy to shape the external environment.
  • Lead all external and internal communication efforts for unbranded disease awareness (examples include Unseen & Unheard podcast , future disease awareness and marketing shaping activities).
  • Serve as strategic counselor to business unit leaders on external and internal thought leadership content.
  • Drive employee engagement and advocacy through powerful organizational communication: Partner with business leaders, develop internal communication strategy and messages to inspire, engage, inform and align employees.
  • Shape and influence business decisions and serve as trusted advisor to mid and senior level leaders, including marketing and medical affairs leadership.
  • Develop and curate content that is compelling, relevant, and grounded in partner understanding and insights.
  • Lead public relations agency; includes managing public relations budget, measurement and reviews.
  • Build Global C&PA capability and excellence: Model and inspire a continuous growth mindset to ensure function stays on the forefront of communications, change, technology, social media and other key media trends; share best practices.
  • Partner closely with the relevant Therapeutic Area Communication Leader within the J&J R&D organization, Corporate Media Relations, Public Affairs, Government Affairs and Investor Relations.
