Assistant Ice Technician

- Responsible for the day to day maintenance of the ice surface up to NHL standards for all Hurricanes games and practices as well as all other ice related events in the arena.
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of all rink equipment and ice maintenance equipment.
- Assist to hire, train, schedule and supervise Ice Crew and Olympia drivers for all Hurricanes games and practices as well as any other ice event in the building.
- Work with Facility Systems department to provide optimal ice conditions for all ice events.
- Assist with all aspects of ice installation and removal.
- Assist Operations and Facility Systems departments with general maintenance and operation of the arena.
- Maintain all logs and records for NHL game day conditions per NHL rules & regulations.
- Act as facility liaison for NHL officials and visiting teams.
- Assist Operations department to expedite event conversions.
- Assist with projects throughout the arena, across all departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be trained operator for Olympia Ice Resurfacing machines.
- Solid understanding of OSHA rules and regulations.
- Must be able to stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb stairs/ladders.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to adhere to building policies and event requirements.
- Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions as well as communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
- Must have a valid NC drivers license and acceptable driving record
- Must be willing to work long hours to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must pass criminal background check
