Second Grade Teacher The second grade teacher plans, organizes, and implements an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential and spiritual growth. The teacher maintains classroom discipline and accountability for student academic achievement and is responsible for sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and First Communion. He/she should be organized and adept at entering grades and assignments into online gradebook and should be familiar and comfortable with Google Classroom, GSuite, and Chromebook integration. Responsibilities Include:
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Developing lesson plans linked to subject area standards.
  • Establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Communicating necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Using relevant technology to support instruction.
  • Observing and evaluating student performance and development.
  • Providing timely and appropriate feedback on work.
  • Demonstrating teaching skills in differentiated instruction.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods and then making relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
  • Presenting for students a positive role model that supports the school's mission and a positive school climate.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year university
  • Arkansas teaching certification or willingness to become certified
  • Relevant teaching experience preferred
