MMD Medical, a Velosity Company is searching for a Thermoplastics Lead role to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN on our 1st shift. In Addition to assemble and build components and operate injection molding machines and perform related component manufacturing operations including inspection, sorting, and trimming of those components in accordance with manufacturing and quality assurance procedures and specifications, the TP Lead is also responsible for training new employees, perform required material handling activities and reconcile DHR . This job is performed inside of a White room Operations area, Class 7 or Class 8 Cleanroom.

This is an on-site position.

Essential Duties:

  • Capable of all TP Operator III requirements
  • Assist Training of Operation I & II
  • Morning Gimba walk and also Shift to Shift walk with Shift Lead or Operator II
  • Spot check each line throughout the day
  • Ensures material is ready if there is week-end work
  • Back up for the Supervisor on defined shift
  • Gives input to Supervisor regarding shift employees
  • Direct daily workflow assignments
  • Safety Representative for department
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Minimum of one (1) year in a medical manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of one (1) year ERP systems experience
  • Ability to teach and train established manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read, write in English, comprehend and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to do basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions and decimals)
  • Good manual dexterity and visual ability with high attention to detail
  • Ability to use hand tools
