We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager who will be responsible for leading and developing a team of manager and professional level associates in continuous improvement, and deployment of Material Management through best practices and tools available. This role entails leading a team who are responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain from Procurement, Materials, Planning, Procurement to Shipping & Receiving. All of which supports our on-time-delivery.

This role will report to the Plant Director and is an onsite role located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the materials procurement, planning and warehouse team to ensure adequate inventory levels are on hand while working within budgetary controls. The definition of adequate inventory levels may be different for varying products or product categories and may change from time to time in collaboration with Sales and Operations Team using available data to forecast demand while accounting for demand
  • Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications, identify and lead team to drive cost savings opportunities, closely monitor inventory and manage cost.
  • Supervise, evaluate and coach team, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to supply chain operations
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supply chain performance, identify areas for improvement, cost savings and continuously drive improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve efficiency throughout the supply chain
  • Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs, control inventory levels, ensure availability of materials, assist in forecasting to plan future orders, and maintain relationships and negotiate with supplier
  • Proactive management to prevent creating slow-moving materials, maintaining safety stock and preventing stock outs or shortages. Manage inventories and creating tools to efficiently manage semi-finished and finished product

The required qualifications for the job include:

  • Oversee the materials management team (planning process, buyers, planners, warehousing and shipping & receiving) to ensure OTD to customer.
  • Analytical mind with proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Bachelor's degree with 14+ years experience or
  • Master's/Doctoral degree with 12+ years experience and
  • Related experience includes 6+ years managing people

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Hands on knowledge on Oracle
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience setting up SCM best practices and processes.
  • Related experience in a diagnostic, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Agile, lifecycle management, and advanced database/Excel skills.
