Duties

This position is located in the Credit Union Resources and Expansion (CURE), National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The Office is responsible for supporting the Director in establishing policy, overseeing program direction, and providing the necessary leadership to achieve organizational and strategic goals.

As the Deputy Director, CURE, you will:

Assist the Director by planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating CURE programs. This includes developing plans for and coordinating programs of joint effort, defining the respective roles and responsibilities of the parties involved, and assigning internal responsibility for executing the programs.

Provide expert advice and assistance to the Director, CURE, agency executive staff, and managers on Chartering and Field of Membership (FOM), new credit union development, low-income, and Minority Depository Institution (MDI) oversight, credit union training, and the Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF) program.

Review, update, and monitor CURE program goals, objectives, and priorities to ensure alignment with agency plans and internal operating plans.

Recommend long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones which serve as a basis for substantive change in the organization and administration of programs.

Work in partnership with managers at all levels to develop new ways to improve customer service. Originate and lead management practices and objectives that will provide a customer service, employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes employee engagement, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Lead and supervise a collaborative and innovative workforce responsible for Chartering and FOM, oversight and development of new credit unions, low-income and MDIs, the CDRLF program, and education through training and informational briefings.

    Qualifications

    For the SS-01 grade level, you must have one year (12 months) of full-time specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the CU-15 grade level in the public or private sector. Qualifying specialized experience is defined as experience supervising a staff; establishing policies, overseeing program support as it relates to licensing, chartering, and operations of credit unions or other financial institutions, and implementing an organization's strategic goals.

It also involves the ability to develop an expansive professional network with other organizations, and to identify the internal and external policies that impact the work of the organization. Technical Qualification (TQ):
    Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and policies involving the licensing and operations of credit unions or other financial institutions.

    Education

    Education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for executive positions.
