Farm Equipment Operator

The farm operates in several counties in Indiana with onsite storage on the farm and delivery contracts for the crops throughout the year. We are a multi-generation farm operation, that takes pride in being fast to adopt technology and being detail oriented.

We are looking for a hardworking, Farm Equipment Operator to join our team. This is a year-round full-time position, but you must be willing to work extended hours during planting and harvest seasons. During the off-season, you will assist with delivering crop to grain facilities, cleaning or fixing equipment, and land maintenance. Our ideal applicant has experience working on a farm in all types of weather.

The Farm Operator will assist in taking care of the day-to-day operations on the farm. The Farm Operator will execute the plan for planting, harvesting, storing, and transporting the crop. They will provide proper preventative maintenance of equipment and repairs.

We offer competitive compensation based on experience. Housing accommodations are negotiable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and service farm machinery
  • Assist with planting and harvesting
  • Mow field boundaries including removing trees
  • Operate farm vehicles, implements, and Semi-truck based on experience
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning
  • Follow proper safety measures
  • Assist with other general labor tasks as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver's license
  • CDL desired, but not required
  • Work well with others and be able to take instructions from farmers and other agricultural managers, effective listening is critical.
  • Experience Operating farm machinery and occasionally do routine maintenance on the machinery
  • Ability to work extended hours during harvest and planting season
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
