Analytical Chemist I 2nd Shift

The Analytical Chemist will perform analytical testing of pharmaceutical samples in accordance with customer methods, Catalent Micron procedures/policies and cGMPs. Rigorous documentation of all testing activities is required, including the maintenance of laboratory notebooks, preparation of detailed laboratory reports, investigation reports etc. The Analytical Chemist will also be responsible for technical review of peer data. The position also entails day-to-day activities associated with maintenance of laboratory functions (instrument calibration/maintenance, glassware cleaning, waste removal, supply inventory/ordering, sample tracking etc.)

Position Summary

Monday-Friday 1:00pm-9:30pm

Note: Training will occur on first shift (M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm) until the completion of GMP/Core competency training. Following the training the Analytical Chemist role will transition to Monday-Friday 1:00pm-9:30pm

The Analytical Chemist position is responsible for providing analytical testing of pharmaceutical materials in support of Catalent Microns contract manufacturing operations and contract analytical services. Testing includes (but is not limited to) characterization of drug substance physical properties (particle size analysis, x-ray powder diffraction, surface area analysis etc.) and chemical testing of drug substance and drug product samples (HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher etc.), stability testing, release testing etc.

• Undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.S.)
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
• Ability to climb steps and ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
• Ability to wear a respirator and pass the required respiratory medical clearance.
• Ability to wear safety shoes when applicable.
