The Coordinator of Student Conduct (LDA) serves as a member of the Office of Student Conduct. The incumbent reviews, processes, and adjudicates alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct; Honor Code; Policy on Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence, Stalking, and Retaliation (Title IX); and other University policies by students and student organizations. The Coordinator will organize and facilitate educational outreach, training, and awareness for students, student organizations, faculty, and staff regarding Academic Integrity, Student Code of Conduct, and other University policy. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Conduct. The incumbent may supervise administrative, graduate, intern, or student staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as an investigator for alleged violations of Student Code of Conduct; Honor Code; Policy on Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence, Stalking, and Retaliation (Title IX); and other University policies by students and student organizations; responds to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, parents, and member of the community; assists in maintaining conduct records and database software; serves as member of the Sexual Misconduct Response Team (SRT), serves as an alternate and ad hoc member for the Case Assessment, Review, and Evaluation (CARE) Team and Student of Concern (SOC) Team; serves on-call for the Office of Dean of Student on a rotating basis; and serves on Department, Division, and University program initiatives and committees.

A Limited Duration Appointment (LDA) is a form of regular employment for a specific project or for a limited period. An LDA may be established for up to one year with an option to renew the appointment annually for a maximum of three years. Please note that this position may be converted to a permanent position prior to or at the conclusion of three years, funding dependent.

  • Skill in writing concise, logical, analytical reports to convey complex issues
  • Ability to maintain neutrality and work under stress
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and success in working with diverse constituencies, both domestic and international
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills; the ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for individual needs
  • Ability to work as part of a University-wide community to resolve complaints in a neutral and sensitive manner
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships with staff at all levels at the University
  • Ability to read and interpret complex legal documents to evaluate their impact on University policy and procedures
  • Working knowledge of nondiscrimination laws and compliance regulations including Title IX, due process protections as they apply to Student Conduct proceedings, the Clery Act, VAWA and FERPA Review of applications will begin on February 19, 2024 and continue until the position is filled. Applications received by this date will receive priority consideration. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; one (1) year of relevant experience in a college or university conduct process, administrative, civil rights, law investigations or other related field; and graduate assistantship, internship, or practicum experience may be considered for relevancy. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree; two (2) or more years of relevant experience in a college or university conduct process, administrative, civil rights, law investigations, or other related field; significant experience conducting investigations alleging discrimination based on sex, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, and sexual violence; demonstrated experience working with individuals who may be in distress and/or handling difficult interactions; demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusivity, as well as the ability to work with a wide range of constituencies (staff, students, faculty, parents, administrators) with diplomacy and tact; demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations, and an awareness of issues affecting women, minorities, and persons with disabilities; knowledge, experience, and training in handling issues related to gender-based violence; superior leadership and management skills, including interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills; and excellent presentation and training skills.
