Summary

You will serve as a SCIENTIST in the RADIATION SAFETY OFFICE of the INFRASTRUCTURE DIVISION in the CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of CARDEROCK DIV NS.



Duties
  • You will support the Radiation Safety Officer performing work to include the recognition, evaluation, and control of radiation hazards and exposures.
  • You will plan, develop, coordinate, and implement the Radiation Safety Program for radioactive material, particle accelerators, x-ray, radio frequency radiation (microwave), and laser equipment.
  • You will support and negotiate with management and technical staff to ensure compliance with Navy radiation safety laws, regulations, and policies; and resolve radiation safety compliance and protection issues and problems.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and Department of the Navy radiation safety laws, regulations, and policies in order to ensure the Division's compliance with those applicable to specific operations.
  • You will prepare program reports, documentation, recommendations, etc. dealing with time-sensitive radiation safety issues.
