Position Description

The County Civil Courts at Law Abstract Clerk issues post-judgmental legal proceedings at the request of a claimant and/or authorized person to collect on courts signed judgments.


Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate professionally with attorneys, Judges, and general public, in all formats.
Process legal documents submitted for court claims and file in Civil Court database.
Research case details, and documents filed in Civil Court claims to issue requests for service.
Handles requests for service by processing outbound physical and electronic mailings.
Assist the general public by answering inquiries about Abstracts and Executions.
Manages legal document collection times with attorneys, pro-se, and customers.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

All applicants must register and take the HRRM Clerical Skills Test and score a minimum of 80% with a typing speed of 30 W.P.M.

and 80% accuracy.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
Experience in a professional office environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must possess basic computer skills.

Salary:
$16.50 Hourly
