Cadence is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to support our Cranston, RI Production Team

The right candidate for this position will be well versed in coaching, mentoring, and managing production employees, in a manufacturing environment. This is a salaried, exempt level position, working on 1st shift (Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm).

Responsibilities Include:
Management, Coaching, and Mentoring of Staff: Serve as the leader for production associates, setting the standard for attitude, enthusiasm, energy, drive and commitment.

Ensure that cross training goals are met and employees are properly trained in all required production areas. Maintain time and attendance records. Track, document and manage employee performance against established goals, objectives, and standards. Coach and mentor employees on a daily basis; prepare and lead the 90-day and annual performance review process for employees. Management of production operations, including: Promote, encourage and lead the area's continuous improvement efforts by working closely with employees in your area, meet or exceed safety, efficiency and quality goals. Prepare, read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals across multiple technologies. Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods. Enforce safety and other company regulations and policies. Collaborate with Engineering and other departments in continuous improvement activities. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED with demonstrated aptitude in math. Machinist Certification or Associates Degree in a technical or engineering related field a plus. Lean and/or Six Sigma certification a plus. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. General knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses. Knowledge of higher level mathematical applications, such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry. Knowledge of principles and procedures for staff recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits. MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook. Familiarity with ERP systems / manufacturing databases. Experience in a leadership capacity is required; experience in supervisory role is a plus. Necessary supervisory skills include: Coaching - provide advice and guidance to help develop staff's skills, performance and career. Active Listening — giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Speaking — talking to others to convey information effectively. Coordination — adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. Management of Personnel Resources — Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. Monitoring – monitoring/assessing performance of one's self, other individuals, and the organization to make improvements or take corrective action.
