Our client, a dynamic family office in the financial services industry, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team. Based in San Francisco, our client provides comprehensive accounting and financial services to its multi-generational family members. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with a tight-knit team while contributing to the financial well-being of the family. This role requires workin the office 3 days a week in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

  • Propose and post adjusting journal entries, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Arrange wires for cash receipts and disbursements, ensuring timely transactions.
  • Prepare investment reconciliations and summaries, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Compile tax data and prepare basic tax work papers, collaborating with external advisors.
  • Respond to ad hoc queries and requests from clients and team members.

Requirements:

  • Minimum four-year degree in accounting or related field.
  • At least five years of prior work experience in accounting.
  • Familiarity with private equity/alternative investments (preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Great Plains is favored.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and client service abilities.
  • Demonstrated financial analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Successful completion of background check and confidentiality agreements.
Compensation:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $100K - $125K per year.
