Position Specific Description

Our Engineering & Technical Services Department is looking for Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer to join their teamin Florida.

Employees in this role:

• Monitor and ensure P&C equipment quality and reliability.

• Develop Protection and Control processes, procedures, and programs to ensure that Power Delivery meets or exceeds the annual Business Unit Reliability Metrics.

• Work on small-to large-scale conventional P&C projects with somewhat complex features.

• Perform P&C component failure root cause investigations and develop countermeasures and plans to prevent additional failures.

• Develop, interpret, and advises on standards, and provide training to Junior Engineers as well as provide technical support to field Operations Leads and Construction Leads.

• Engages in industry and professional organizations, and monitor new and emerging technologies, innovations, and trends.

Background in the Utility Industry with Protection & Control Experience is strongly preferred for this role.

This position is based at our Jupiter West Office. Alternate location in FPL service territory is available to internal applicants.

• Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs

• Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements

• Ability to work extended hours

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

• Bachelor's - Engineering

• Experience:3+ years

Preferred Qualifications


• Certified Professional Engineer (PE)

• Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

• Six Sigma Green Belt Certified

• Master's Degree

• Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
