POSITION DUTIES

The Alcohol and Drug Licensed Clinical Counselor,\r
Supervisor�provides administrative and clinical supervision, and\r
leadership to the substance use disorder treatment staff who are responsible\r
for providing substance use disorder treatment services, including those who\r
are dually diagnosed. This work includes the following duties:\r
�\r
�� Supervise and evaluate the work of addiction\r
counselors, to include client record reviews and monitor the administration of\r
treatment services. Insure compliance with COMAR standards for substance abuse\r
treatment. Provide corrective recommendations for improving skills in the\r
administration of substance abuse counseling services\r
�\r
�� Assign tasks to addiction counselors related to\r
data collection, reports, and the administration of substance abuse services\r
�\r
�� Conduct meetings to review and revise procedures\r
for substance abuse assessments and counseling interventions\r
�\r
�� Establish and regularly monitor quality assurance\r
to ensure proper treatment services and compliance with COMAR standards for\r
substance abuse treatment\r
�\r
�� Assist the Director of Substance Abuse Treatment\r
Services in the implementation of regional substance abuse services that comply\r
with the department's strategy for providing services\r
�\r
�� Review clinical files to ensure completed\r
documentation within the required timeframe\r
�\r
�� Conduct performance reviews for addiction\r
counselors twice yearly in accordance with State personnel policies and\r
procedures\r
�\r
�� Maintain contact with internal and external\r
resources such as community based addiction providers in support of providing\r
aftercare services\r
�\r
�� Maintain approval by the Board of Professional\r
Counselors and Therapist to supervise alcohol and drug counselors\r
�\r
�� Participate in continued professional development\r
through educational training.\r
