Prepares election equipment, troubleshoots computer equipment problems, audits and logs all ballots and performs other duties related to the operation of elections.Prepares, tests and coordinates the set-up of election equipment, computer systems, workstations and supplies to meet specification of voting system.Assists on election day by:Testing precinct counters and responding to problematic calls, Instructing election judges and clerks on voting equipment operations, Preparing supply boxes and supply hand-outs, and Auditing and logging all voted and unused ballots.Maintains election equipment by: Troubleshooting, repairing and replacing defective parts or equipment to ensure compliance of voting regulations and safety guidelines, Cleaning and storing ballot boxes, voting booths, computers and other equipment, and Ordering and maintaining parts, supplies and inventory.May require prolonged sitting and standing, use of forklift.May be subject to dust, extreme heat and cold while working in a warehouse environment.The steps include: Criminal History Review, Traffic Violations Record, Review of Personal History Statement and Documents, Physical Examination, and Background Investigation.AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, National Service Alumni volunteers, and persons with a criminal background are encouraged to apply.
