The Role

Proofpoint is looking for a talented Product Manager to join our growing team based out of our Sunnyvale, CA office. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, understand the company strategy and make impactful decisions. The successful product manager will work with the organization and customers as the product owner to gather requirements, understand the business needs, prioritize, and execute. You must be able to collaborate across various teams and communicate effectively. You will work closely with Program Management and Engineering team to manage the product. You have the opportunity to learn about the various businesses and products across Proofpoint and define the strategy and roadmap for the product.

This position reports to the Group Product Manager for the Email Products

Your day-today

  • Understand the company's vision, strategy, and roadmap
  • Work closely with various teams across Proofpoint, as well as customers to understand business and technical requirements
  • Validate product direction by ensuring you are aligned with business, customer, and stakeholder needs
  • Build concrete, tangible product plans that balance efficiency, long term strategy and stakeholder needs
  • Communicate effectively to all stakeholders to ensure all the stakeholders are aligned
  • Prioritize the requirements backlog for the engineering team
  • Rally a high-performing development team to ship high quality deliverables under aggressive schedules
  • Work with Program management to keep the milestones on track

What you bring to the team

  • 8+ years managing high technology products, with great communication skills
  • Solid understanding of enterprise security product, business goals and technical needs
  • Able to maintain the delicate balance between quality, speed and customer needs
  • Strong record of relationship building with multiple stakeholders
  • Successful background in developing strategies with senior level counterparts
  • Excellent leadership and communications skills, with experience communicating across groups with varying degrees of technical and business background
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or equivalent business experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable pay and/or equity. SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 157, ,220.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 129, ,200.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 117, ,480.00 USD
