As a US Rates Desk Strategist, you'll contribute to our sales and trading business's thought leadership by formulating trade ideas or investment opportunities relevant to the current macro environment, working with a broad range of clients. You'll also be taking care of modelling, analysis, forecasting supply and demand factors for US treasuries and swap spreads, while also publishing regular and ad-hoc strategy notes. In addition, you'll be: Continuously updating internal and external clients through formal publications, chats, calls, podcasts and media appearances to promote insights, capabilities and productsActively participating in discussions with other members of our strategy team to formulate US treasury and rates market viewsDeveloping analytics in Excel and programming approaches to find, motivate or illustrate macro and relative value tradesFocusing on central bank balance sheet analysis, analysis of trade data, relative value analysis in bonds and derivatives of economic data and financial flowsTaking all reasonable steps to make sure that strategy activities are fully in line with policies covering conduct, operational and regulatory risksThe skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you'll need at least five to eight years of experience in rates strategy covering US rates markets at a financial institution, central bank or in an academic setting. You'll also have excellent knowledge of capital markets and quantitative skills with the ability to be creative with analytics. Additional programming experience would be advantageous. Furthermore, you'll need: Strong knowledge in rates derivatives and vol spaceA good understanding of FINRA Series 3, SIE, 7, 63The ability to manipulate data using Excel, as well some econometric techniquesA strong work ethic and an active awareness of operational and regulatory risksStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with clients both internally and externally in a concise and clear mannerThe expected base annual salary range for this position is $250k - $280k.This is not a guarantee of compensation. The exact compensation is determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on skills, experience, training licensure, certifications and location. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus; medical, dental, and vision plans; life and disability insurance; employee wellness programs; retirement and savings plans with potential employer contributions; generous paid time off policy, parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
