Job Summary


The Accounts Receivable (A/R) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supervising the daily operations and processes of the accounts receivable (A/R) team.

Essential Position Functions

  • Supports A/R team with complex and high-value deduction cases that require in-depth research and resolution. This includes investigating discrepancies and managing disputes with customers.
  • Engages customers, brokers, sales staff, or managers as required to resolve issues; this includes requesting and collecting repayment of invalid deductions, identifying trends, and resolving issues which cause invalid deductions.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the A/R team, including coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Monitors and reports out on customer deductions and team productivity, balancing A/R workload to ensure timely and accurate accounts receivable processing.
  • Performs analysis over A/R aging to present to sales leadership and upper management.
  • Leads special projects related to billing and deduction processing, including implementing technology solutions and process improvements.
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, 5 or more years' experience in Credit/Trade deductions, and at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Food industry is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Project management skills and experience leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information in understandable terms at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with people both individually and in groups to resolve conflicts.
  • Strong PC and 10-key skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, formulas, and linked worksheets.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task environment with multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities and specific time constraints.
  • Ability to adapt to the business' changing needs.
  • Requires attention-to-detail and accuracy.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Office environment.
  • Flexible schedule may be required based on business needs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer required while in the office.
This position is eligible for a bonus based on company goals/performance.
