Summary

You will serve as a Mail Assistant within NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE.

Duties
  • You will receive, sort, collect, meter postage, process, deliver, and direct the distribution of incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail, Messenger Mail, DOD/DON Inter-Agency and Messenger Mail, and premium services such as FEDEX, UPS, DHL, etc.
  • You will examine all mail material for evidence of tampering, damage, and compliance with packing and labeling requirements.
  • You will load and unload vehicles with mail in USPS containers such as plastic/cardboard trays and tubs, mail sacks, sealed boxes, and parcels.
  • You will operate a vehicle to collect, pick-up, deliver, and dispatch mail using established scheduled routes and special mail runs to and from DOD/DON commands and USPS facilities.
  • You will maintain logs with validating signatures for all locations and activities on scheduled routes.
  • You will ensure all incoming and outgoing mail is in adherence with all USPS, DOD/DON, regulations, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Postal Affairs and other applicable guidelines and laws.
