Long Term Substitute–Upper/Middle School Math Teacher

North Shore Country Day, a JK-12 independent school near Chicago, seeks a long term substitute for an Upper/Middle School Math teacher. The position will begin in late August 2024 and run through mid-November 2024. North Shore is eager to consider applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in independent school communities.
While a bachelor's degree is required, a master's degree is preferred. Additionally, we seek candidates with three or more years of experience, a demonstrable talent and passion for math instruction and experience teaching Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus. Ideal candidates will be believers in and cultivators of the "growth mindset," excellent written and oral communicators, collaborative and valued colleagues, and lifelong learners who are committed to their ongoing professional development.
Additionally, we will value candidates who have invested in growing their intercultural competencies and whose teaching practice reflects those understandings and skills both inside and outside the classroom.
Finally, because North Shore has a 1:1 iPad program in grades 6-12, candidates should be skilled integrators of 21st century technology into their teaching practice.
Candidates are asked to submit a cover letter specific to the role at NSCD, a resume, a written statement detailing their philosophy/approach to their work, and a listing of professional references.
