OPS PARALEGAL SPECIALIST

This position performs complex tasks customarily performed by a paralegal in a private sector law firm. This position will serve as the lead support for, and work directly with, the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel. This position is responsible for drafting motions, pleadings, and correspondence for the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel signatures. Attention to detail, organization, and independent critical thinking are required. Maintains electronic files and records of office correspondence, documents, public record requests, and other materials. Responsible for updating and maintaining litigation caseload for the Office of General Counsel. Must be able to work independently.
Schedule appointments, meetings, and hearing dates. Arrange for court reporters at depositions and hearings, as necessary. Attend meetings and hearings as requested to assist the attorney. Communicates with other attorneys, staff and clients about hearings, trials, and appeals. Performs related work as required. Communicates with Department staff and Agency Clerk regarding filings and official case documents.
Education Requirements: Associate degree required
