Responsible for developing and delivering a defined learning program and curriculum for the education of children at the Kohl's Child Development Centers (CDC), Kohl's on-site childcare. Responsible for the number of infants, toddlers, twos, or prek children in an assigned classroom. Executes classroom duties including creating and implementing lesson plans, care giving and compliance with set standards. Provides training and mentoring to new staff (primary or support) in best practices, policies/procedures, customer service and problem solving as needed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
FOLLOW KOHL'S AND CENTER POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND STATE LICENSING AND REGULATIONS

Maintain safety, care, nurturance and active/appropriate supervision of the children in your care Accurately track children in your care and maintain appropriate teacher/child ratios during the course of your shift Provide insight, feedback and recommendations on ways to improve procedural changesComplete all classroom paperwork and licensing forms to maintain compliance Follow center philosophy, policies and licensing rules/regulations including but not limited to appropriate child guidance techniques DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY OF CURRICULUM Develop and deliver a defined learning program and curriculum in accordance with state licensing rules and regulations, company defined educational standards, and state guidelinesCreate and maintain an appropriate learning environmentConduct informal and formal assessments of children as needed/ or requiredMay develop and present in-service learning and growth programs for staff and parents MAINTAIN NECESSARY CERTIFICATION TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES Attend all staff meetings and recommended required trainingsMeet yearly continuing education requirementsEnsure necessary documentation for First Aid and Infant/Child CPR with AED training is met on a bi-annual basis PROVIDE QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS AT EACH INTERACTION Treat all of the children with dignity and respectMaintain confidentiality of the children and parentsWork well with fellow associates, support teachers, and supervisors to ensure the needs of the children are metWrite meaningful messages in the brightwheelTM app relaying information to the parents regarding their child's day - charting all diaper changes, feedings, naps, important information, daily activities, etc. Greet parents and children throughout the centerProvide information regarding development of the children in your room during parent meetingsADDENDUM
OVERSEE ALL OPENING AND CLOSING PROCEDURES Open the building which includes checking voicemails, adjusting schedules and coordinating associate coverageOversee drop off and pick up process - answer any questions from parents Close the building which includes keeping track of children exiting and overseeing dismissing teachers for the day as classrooms get into ratioFollow any and all necessary policies in the event of an emergencyQUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREDMeet all Early Childhood Teacher requirements (Intro to Child Care Profession-ECI and Skills and Strategies for the Child Care Teacher-ECII)Fundamentals of Infant/Toddler Development Certified Multiple years of experience in Early Childhood Education (Min. requirement of 80 full days working experience in a licensed childcare facility)Demonstrates leadership behaviors, takes initiativeEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work as part of a team and interact effectively with othersUnderstand and implement developmentally appropriate practicesIf hired, Drug Screen, Health Exam, Fingerprint Based Background Check and TB test required PREFERRED Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldSuperior organizational and computer skillsCurriculum development, lesson planning, and training experience Customer service experienceFirst Aid and Infant/Child CPR with AED trainingAbusive Head Trauma CertifiedChild Abuse/Neglect CertifiedRegular attendance is key to performing the job SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Able to lift 40lbsStanding, sitting, squatting, bending, twisting, walking, and moving at a fast paceFlexibility within hours of operation
