Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your facilities expertise while providing technical support for capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades involving stationary and rotating equipment? If so, this is the role for you.

The Facility Services Technician will be responsible for providing input to the Manager Facility Services when discussing departmental decisions concerning maintenance and repair of the building infrastructure. The typical work hours for this position are a standard workday and 40-hour work week, with shift work being a possibility depending on manufacturing demand. There is also an on-call rotation consisting of 24/7 support for alarm monitoring and emergency services. Some travel may be required.

Technicians will have increasing levels of responsibility as the move up in grade. Technicians are responsible for mechanical maintenance, service calls, and in-house repairs throughout the facility. They perform work in mechanical maintenance trades and perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. They also make periodic or special inspections of equipment to ensure operability and to determine necessary repairs. They may work from rough sketches and drawings. They must also understand and abide by applicable cGMP requirements.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
  • Must work effectively with outside contractors.
  • Assists with the development and improvement of department procedures, documents, and operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Works and participates effectively in a team environment, within the department, with other departments and with outside contractors.
  • Requires supervision of outside contractors performing facility and equipment related services.
  • Requires technician level operation of the MERP data base.
  • Assist facility technicians with preventative maintenance and work order activities.
  • Must perform custodial and site inspection tasks, including grounds, roofs, ceiling tiles, lighting, elevators and fire suppression equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent ( GED)
  • 2+ years' experience in a production environment
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs
  • Must be able to operate heavy machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Facility/Building Management IT System knowledge
  • 3+ years' experience with a biopharmaceutical company preferred
  • Familiarity with good manufacturing practice plant operation, safety and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of industrial controls systems
  • Aptitude for creating written procedures and maintenance plans
  • Experience with machinery condition monitoring, life assessment, and repair strategies
  • Knowledge of MS Office and SAP
  • Knowledge of root cause failure analysis methods
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to problem solve and utilize learning and critical thinking
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Trade certification/license in millwright, instrumentation or electrical
