Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking Machine Learning Engineer III in Bellevue office.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and Develop Machine Learning Systems: Build and implement robust machine learning models. This includes data preprocessing, model building, and deployment of machine learning algorithms.
  • Analyze and Manipulate Data: Collect, clean, and manage data from diverse sources to ensure it is suitable for modeling
  • Experiment and Optimize Models: Continuously improve models by experimenting with different algorithms and tuning hyperparameters.
  • Deploy Models to Production: Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate machine learning models into larger systems and ensure smooth deployment.
  • Monitor Model Performance: Oversee the ongoing performance of models and update them as necessary to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with business teams to understand company needs and devise feasible solutions using machine learning.
  • Research and Implement Latest Technologies: Stay updated with the latest developments in AI and machine learning technologies and advocate for the adoption of new tools and practices when appropriate.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of the modeling process and present results and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Need:

  • Educational Background: Master's or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with machine learning frameworks (like TensorFlow or PyTorch) and programming languages (Python).
  • Data Management Skills: Strong capabilities in handling and analyzing big data with tools like SQL, and Pyspark.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to approach complex problems analytically and come up with practical solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is often beneficial.
  • Statistical Analysis and Mathematical Skills: Deep understanding of statistics and the mathematical foundations behind machine learning algorithms.

Bonus (if applicable):

  • Develop and Train Large Language Models: Design, build, and fine-tune large language models that can be applied to a variety of tasks including text generation, semantic analysis, and more.
  • Implement Generative AI Solutions: Create models that can generate text, images, or other media to meet the needs of our clients and internal projects.
  • Build and Deploy AI Agents: Develop AI agents capable of performing autonomous actions within specified environments or frameworks.
