The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete interiors package, including necessary drawings, specifications, and color boards, to offer design solutions that are practical, improve the occupants' quality of life and culture, and are aesthetically pleasing.
  • Tasks involve space organization, layout planning, finish selection, furniture selection, and preparation of drawings and specifications.
The Team

As a part of BV Operations, your skills will align with projects supporting our 3 market sectors - Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. In roles like Engineers, Technicians, and Skilled Specialists, you will be involved in exciting projects worldwide. Ranging from small community enhancements to large-scale Mega Projects, you will contribute to Building a World of Difference by promoting infrastructure growth and development while focusing on your personal advancement. Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Lead Architect or Interior Designer on project interior design. Offer interior design along with construction drawings, specifications, color boards, and product details. Integrate all project interior design requirements into interior space layouts. Oversee interior design budget, schedule, and quality. Organize meetings with clients, project teams, vendors, and contractors as needed to finalize design. Present design concepts and finalized designs to clients/owners. Lead a small production team. Maintain records and documentation. Review shop drawings and installation drawings. Prepare interior design submittal documents. Ensure installed interior design aligns with construction documents. Serve as a lead person.
  • Do not have managerial responsibilities for individuals to whom work direction is provided.
  • Provide work direction to: drafters, technicians, and entry-level architects.
  • Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Building Codes and Government Compliance Regulations (Americans with Disabilities Act). Advanced familiarity with manufacturers of interior finish materials and furniture. Proficiency in GSA schedules and policies for Government projects. Advanced ability to offer creative and technical solutions that meet owner's requirements. Sound knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Intermediate analytical skills. Creativity. Aesthetic sense. Initiative. Attention to detail. Intermediate communication skills. Basic negotiation skills. Ability to multitask and adapt to changes.
Minimum Qualifications

Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited university (Bachelor of Arts in Interiors or a similar 4 or 5-year program) and National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification or actively pursuing such certification if not certified*. At least 5 years of experience in Commercial Interior Design is required by all applicants. All candidates should be capable of fulfilling pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected), which may involve criminal/civil background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records investigations, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications

National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification or actively pursuing such certification if not certified*.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
