This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30th, 2024. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be May 23rd with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks. Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8AM to 4:30 PM
Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME:

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
VA Northern California Health Care System is looking for an Orthopedic Physician to serve Veterans at the Sacramento VA Medical Center as office-based orthopedic surgeon.
outpatient orthopaedic care (invasive and noninvasive) to all scheduled and limited walk-in patients, providing the patient with risks, benefits, and alternative treatments and obtaining informed consent from the patient or guardian before conducting invasive procedures as dictated by policy and best medical practices.
Incumbent is accountable to the Chief, Orthopedics under the Surgical Services Department and is responsible for managing the most effective delivery of state-of-the-art local outpatient orthopedic care including consult/referral review, triage and forwarding/initiating of referrals/consults as clinically indicated.
