BAE Systems, San Diego Business Center (SDBC) is seeking a talented Top Secret/SCI cleared Software Engineer. This individual should have strong C++/Python/Java developer fundamentals to design, and implement algorithms and software features to meet mission needs. Experience integrating with external components and APIs is important. The candidate must also be able to test their software at all levels (unit test, integration test, system test), and will be responsible for deploying and maintaining operational and test systems, along with troubleshooting ad hoc site issues as they come up.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Must hold an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience deploying and working in Cloud environments (AWS)
  • Strong C++ skillset including:
    • Object-oriented design, C++ coding, and unit testing
    • Ability to debug source code
    • Troubleshooting complex, multi-threaded software
  • Strong Java foundation including:
    • Write unit tests in JUnit
    • Use Maven to manage dependencies and package software
    • Work with third-party libraries and documentation
    • Write robust code with appropriate error checking and handling
    • Web Service development using spring-boot
  • Integration experience, including:
    • Deploy software to Linux environments
    • Interpret logs and validate data analytics
    • Understand complex system architectures and debug errors spanning multiple components
  • Experience with using various scripting language (Javascript, Python, Perl, Shell) to create final product per stakeholder requirements
  • Must have a strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices.
  • Must be able to plan and prioritize personal tasking and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience in software development on Agile teams using Agile Developer practices
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, SAFe Agilest Certification, or past experience as a member of an agile team.
  • Experience using GitLab or other CI / CD tools
  • Strong Linux and Networking background
  • Experience with SWIG

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $215270

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
