The Gist

Our Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our systems and services. You will work closely with development, operations, and product teams to build and maintain scalable and resilient systems.

What Your Day Might Include

  • Automate repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency through scripting and tooling.
  • Manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
  • Use your in depth understanding of systems from a reliability engineering point-of-view.
  • Perform capacity planning and scaling of systems to meet current and future demands.
  • Implement solutions for automatic scaling and resource optimization.

  • Understand and resolve complex systems issues including instability, poor performance etc.
  • Use a data-driven approach to analysis of operational concerns and a strong use of scientific method to develop solutions.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and instrumentation to provide the teams with the needed data.
  • Create mathematical and statistical modeling for success.
  • Strong communications ability and an understanding of organizational/team dynamics and negotiation is required.

Requirements

You'll Bring These Qualifications

  • US Citizenship Required to obtain Public Trust.
  • Min 3 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer role.
  • Min 10 years of experience of software engineer experience with skills in Angular, Node, Python and Java.
  • A good technical infrastructure understanding of containers, operating system internals, networking, storage, network load balancing and routing and the TCP/IP stack.
  • Expert-level understanding of architecture and complex distributed systems.
  • Automation-first mindset, as well as the skills to match, including Terraform IaC and AWS cloud technologies.
  • Experience with the following: Linux and Unix, Cloud Computing, CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance and Software Testing Automation.
  • Knowledge and experience in Security Engineering and Response.
  • Strong experience in DevOps, Incident Management and managing Postmortems
