Other US Location Nuna Inc. Full time

At Nuna, our mission is to make high-quality healthcare affordable and accessible for everyone. We are dedicated to tackling one of our nation's biggest problems with ingenuity, creativity, and a keen moral compass.

Nuna is committed to simple principles: a rigorous understanding of data, modern technology, and most importantly, compassion and care for our fellow human. We want to know what really works, what doesn't—and why.

YOUR TEAM

We build technology to enable users (from data scientists to analysts to policy-makers) to understand healthcare data while ensuring its integrity, security and privacy. Our work runs the gamut from joining streams of messy real-world data to building queryable data warehouses to constructing visualizations and dashboards that provide actionable insight. We build systems that are auditable, automated, an accurate representation of the underlying data, and, most importantly, responsive to our end users' needs. We strive for a creative, collaborative engineering environment that implements best practices of peer review, readability, maintainability, and security of the code base and infrastructure.

The Nuna Reporting Framework is responsible for maintaining the data warehouse that supports all customer-facing data queries, in addition to all APIs that support our dynamic UI and static reports. This team works closely with healthcare data experts to design schemas that allow our users to see the critical information they need. This is a central team to Nuna's success and has a direct impact on the healthcare industry.

YOUR OPPORTUNITIES

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our overall architecture and strategy. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled team of engineers and health data experts. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide critical data to our customers in a format that they can understand and rely on.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building performant, well-documented, scalable APIs that can answer the complex questions our users have about their data
  • Partnering with other engineers to solve complex business and engineering problems
  • Designing schemas in partnership with the data engineers and health data experts that can quickly serve results and generate reports
  • Building a well-tested, continuously-deployable, and high-quality codebase that supports developer velocity and exceptional reliability

QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with full-time software engineering
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, Kotlin, Go, or other relevant languages
  • Experience using data storage and retrieval technologies, such as MySQL, Snowflake, etc
  • Excellent debugging and data analysis skills with real experience problem-solving with data
  • Ability to write clearly and document their ideas
  • Passionate about writing high-quality code
  • Curiosity for learning, being a self-starter who is eager to try new things
  • Experience with cloud technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
  • Experience with data in healthcare, fintech, or other similar industries.
  • Experience working on compliant and secure systems, in partnership with audit, legal, and security

We take into account an individual's qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company's equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The expected salary range for this position is $162,000 to $198,000.
