Focused on VMware Horizon both on-premise and in the cloud, this platform supports a diverse range of business needs, from daily operations to resource-heavy development tasks. In this position, you will showcase advanced skills in VMWare Horizon, Windows, and Linux systems administration, overseeing the complete VDI lifecycle across multiple global locations.
  • To excel in this role, a combination of business acumen and technical expertise is essential, together with a keen eye for detail that turns visions into reality.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Engineering

  • Design and manage virtual desktop delivery platforms based on technical specifications provided by stakeholders
  • Administer scalable VDI solutions in both private and public cloud environments
  • Oversee Horizon View desktop pools, application pools, and user entitlements
  • Handle Tier 3 issues, providing advanced support for virtualized environments
  • Provision and configure VMWare vCenter, vSphere ESXi, Horizon, Unified Access Gateway, and VDI desktop images
  • Assist with patching and vulnerability remediations
  • Create and update documentation based on industry best practices
  • Basic management of server hardware and storage solutions supporting VDI operations
  • Participate in application integration design sessions

Operations

  • Troubleshoot desktop image and system issues for swift problem resolution
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure software performance aligns with best practices
  • Ensure high system uptime and rapid response to alerts
  • Be available for weekend, shift, or on-call schedules when required
  • Implement monitoring, patch management, and application management tools

Analytics

  • Conduct performance analysis of business processes
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to understand major projects
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Systems Administration or End-User Computing
  • Proficiency with Horizon View, Connection Servers, and Unified Access Gateways
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux desktop operating systems
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot system performance issues
  • Experience with Active Directory

Desirable but not mandatory:

  • Experience with vCenter and vSphere ESXi
  • Knowledge of scripting/automation tools
  • Experience in Azure cloud environments and Horizon Control Plane 2.0
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, Bash
  • Understanding of MySQL/MSSQL
