Job Summary and Qualifications

This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza. Under the supervision of the Surgical Services leadership team, transports patients to and from all surgical services and peri-operative departments using carts, wheelchairs, and beds. Generally assists technologists/nurses in moving patients to exam tables and ensures communication forms are filled out completely by all staff.When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by surgical services leadership. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Populations and Ages of Patients Served: This position requires knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families. Personnel in this position must recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category. The employee must be able to demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their families according to standards. (The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience.)

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Prefer some hospital or clinical experience

Located in Aurora, Colorado, The Medical Center of Aurora offers over 346 beds. It has five medical campuses, including the Main South Campus, the North Campus Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, Centennial Medical Plaza, Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Spalding Rehabilitation at P/SL. The Main Campus is a Level II Trauma Center with Primary Stroke Certification and Chest Pain Center accreditation, serving the eastern metro area and I-70 corridor. The South Campus has a Level III NICU.
