Job Description:
Engineering Trainee (Drafter/CAD Operator I)
As an Engineering Trainee you will work in support of an Engineering group by participating in many facets of engineering that contribute to product development, repair, maintenance, review, and supply chain issues related to Navy Shipboard equipment.
- Review and update mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Assist with material selection and sourcing.
- Create and update Bill of Material (BOM) lists.
- Create and revise product drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Fusion 360.
- Assist in preparing information and research materials.
- Perform assembly and/or repair on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Assist in the design and development of product solutions.
- Coordinate manufacturing operations with the machine and fabrication shop.
- Assist with the Quality Inspection of mechanical parts.
- Other special projects as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: High School Diploma/GED, and currently enrolled or a college graduate pursing a degree in Engineering & having completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework.
● Required Experience: 0+ years of related experience
● Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in a CAD program such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360
● Security Clearance Level: None
● Required Skills and Abilities: Creative problem-solving skills, self-motivated, ability to balance multiple priorities, and a desire for learning.
