Job Description

Responsibilities Include:

1. Manage and schedule staff in preventive maintenance tasks as well as plant operations project work.

2. Complete staff pmp appraisals, payroll and performance management.

3. The manager shall be familiar with the central plant and campus systems managed and ensures compliance with all Stamford Hospital policies and procedures. The manager will be responsible for maintaining department policies.

4. Assists in preparing purchase requisitions, technical/justification memos accordingly and follows up to ensure they are processed timely

5. Responsible for maintaining the inventory of all equipment/tools/supplies

6. Oversees the processing of invoices and audit work to ensure minimal system downtime.

7. Assigns work order tickets via CMMS for work order tracking and compliance.

8. Create and maintain shift schedules ensuring that adequate coverage is in place.

9. Maintain and supervise all HVAC, refrigeration and water systems within the campus.

10. Supervise all compliance testing including air quality and water treatment.

11. Maintain accurate documentation on boilers and related equipment to fulfill regulatory requirements. Assists in creating regulatory reports.

12. Assists in the preparation of staff performance reviews. Discuss reviews with subordinates and identifies areas of improvement if any exist.

13. Maintains an accepted parts inventory control to ensure efficient delivery of service. Obtains competitive bids/proposals.

14. Perform appropriate inspections of Life Safety Systems per code and maintains accurate documentation on inspections and repairs.

15. Coordinate and supervise contractors in plant infrastructure upgrades and repairs. Obtain pricing for related projects.

16. Coordinate and supervise contractors in building renovation projects repairs. Obtain pricing for related projects.

Requirements include:

Years of Exp: 5- 10 years exp related field with at least 3 years of supervisory.

Education: Minimum BA required High School or Trade/vocational School graduate with a Connecticut Plumbing license and experience in healthcare maintenance and/or commercial plant operations.

Operations Engineer II (OE2) License required. Hands-on experience in performing trouble shooting, repairs and maintenance of all types of HVAC and Environmental Controls Systems not limited to AHU distribution systems, VAV Systems, FCU Systems, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Chillers, Boilers, Steam specialties. Must have high pressure steam and building automation experience as well prior use of a computerized preventative maintenance program.

Knowledge of local and state codes necessary.
