Main Purpose of Job

The primary function of the Case Manager is applying and interpreting federal and State Medicaid regulations and policies when reviewing and verifying Non-MAGI and MAGI Medicaid applications, verifications, and data to render eligibility determinations. Case Managers are responsible for accurately reviewing and verifying verifications including but not limited to applications, technical verifications, income, asset, resource, financial verifications, and clearances for accuracy, completeness and compliance prior to rendering an eligibility decision. Additionally, the review and verification process may encompass contact with applicants, recipients, or authorized representatives to secure missing eligibility verifications required to render accurate eligibility decisions. The Case Manager is also responsible for ensuring all data systems are updated timely and accurately this includes ensuring verifications are uploaded when applicable.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:�� Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \r
Experience: Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program. \r

1. Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience�on a year-for-year basis for the required education. \r
2. Candidates may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:\r

Experience determining eligibility for governmental assistance programs; interpreting and applying policies, regulations and procedures\r
Public contact experience involving interviewing, explaining information and gathering and compiling data\r
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs\r
