Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Managing operation of steady routes; dispatching and scheduling appointments with terminals, pick-ups and drop offs

Responsible for managing a local fleet of Drivers

Complete oversight of our drivers and daily terminal operations

Working closely with the Office Manager in regards to qualification, hiring, training and retention of drivers

Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and the ability to operate in compliance with these regulations as well as within company guidelines

Managing routine and non-routine maintenance for all the trucks and coordinating such repair with various shops in the area

Handling roadside assistance needs and developing a cost effective way to minimize on the road tire changes and repairs

Monitoring budget and operational metrics while diagnosing and improving processes and procedures to ultimately improve performance and profitability

Other duties as required

Qualifications/ Requirements:

Minimum of 2 year of port - drayage dispatching experience and operations in the trucking industry

Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills and problem solving ability

Ability to multi-task various functions simultaneously

Maintain positive attitude

Have strong attention to detail

Must be willing to work flexible schedule and long hours

Strong computer skills – good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook

Professional driving experience is a plus

Spanish, Chinese is a plus
