Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

RBC is looking to standup a new Cash Management Offering in the United States. It will entail a standing up a new Digital Bank for Commercial Clients.

The USCM Data, Analytics, & Insights team plays a key role in supporting the data requirements needed to support this new line of business. In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of Data Engineers and Quality Automation Engineers to delivery new, enhance existing, or maintain data capabilities supplied by our Data team. The role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according to requirements, plan and schedule.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and technology platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables, but always adhering to principles of safety and soundness.
  • Provide oversight in the technical design of solutions to ensure optimal use of software facilities and features.
  • Provide support and hold teams accountable for adherence to standards and policies; escalate non-conformance.
  • Lead and/or coordinate activities to resolve complex technical issues/problems.
  • Maintain awareness of data, analytics, and insight trends and provide relevant context to the technical and business leads.
  • Support the research and evaluation of new data capabilities.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring to team members, to maximize their level of technical expertise.
  • Coordinating coding, testing, implementation and documentation of application solutions.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Team leadership and management skills
  • 5+ years' experience, coupled with complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.
  • Expert technical knowledge of data and data analytics technology.
  • Highest level of proven competence with data manipulation languages, data definition languages, physical database design, and application performance analysis & tuning.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and initiatives.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice-to-have:

  • Strong knowledge of business intelligence, automation and security tools and standards.
  • Knowledge of data science
  • Ability to learn and absorb quickly new concepts (in business and in systems), apply new knowledge as appropriate and transfer knowledge to others

The good faith expected salary for the above position is $150K -250K depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
