Role Overview:

Meridian Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Counselor Supervisor reporting to the Treatment Director. This role involves overseeing Counselors and Interns to ensure the delivery of top-tier clinical services within the treatment program. Responsibilities include monitoring program development, fostering staff development, and providing direct care such as assessments, group sessions, and case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise counseling staff and assist with client case management.
  • Screen and interview clients for program suitability.
  • Provide ongoing education and training to staff members.
  • Review and approve various documents for ADC Trainees and interns.
  • Lead supervision meetings and stay informed on licensure requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota State Licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  • Minimum of three years counseling individuals with substance use disorder.
  • Familiarity with program rules, regulations, and requirements.
  • Experience without substance abuse problems for at least two years.
  • Training in mental health and chemical dependency.
  • Cultural awareness, CPR, first aid certification, and computer literacy.

  • Excellent verbal communication and ability to simplify concepts.
  • Effective communication across diverse backgrounds.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and proficient in drafting reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and flexibility in diverse environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods, occasional lifting, data entry, and handling paperwork.
