About the team
The Global Sanctions Specialist will be part of Sanctions and AML Compliance group within the Global Legal Compliance organization. It is one of the centers of excellence within GLC.
We provide strategic guidance and leadership regarding all financial sanctions and money laundering compliance matters of TikTok globally in order to ensure a consistent global approach across the organization.
ResponsibilitiesSome key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Support existing sanctions tools and systems, and ensure that companywide compliance programs, including sanctions name screening systems and Know Your Customer (KYC) and other onboarding programs, are implemented globally with effective monitoring.
- Review, analyze, and assess potential issues identified by sanctions systems and provide actionable and immediate compliance recommendations.
- Work with crossfunctional and product groups in support of customer onboarding and transaction screening programs.
- Assist in compliance investigations in support of sanctions and other compliance issues.
- Conduct or assist in periodic risk assessment to identify gaps and to improve on the compliance programs, processes, and procedures.
- Establish strong working relationships and build trust and credibility with stakeholders, influencing and supporting a culture of compliance.
- Additional project and ad hoc work as necessary to support Global Legal Compliance team.
- Assist in drafting compliance operating procedures and other compliance documentation.
- Work with technical and product solutions teams to implement enhancements to sanctions system controls.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A recognized Bachelor's degree in Law, Risk Management, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant working experience focusing on sanctions, customer due diligence, and compliance investigations
- Demonstrated experience in a global fintech or in the financial services industry. In particular, specific experience with sanctions compliance products
- Possess the highest standard of ethics and a positive attitude in learning and willing to pick up new knowledge and skills
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- Willing to be available for meetings that are scheduled before or after home time zone normal business hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Law enforcement investigation experience
- Able to work well independently and in a team environment
- A confident selfstarter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, yet with creative mind, and demonstrate the ability to effectively and proactively exercise good judgment and partner with the business in a fastpaced environment
- Willing to travel

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $ $148444 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
