About Brawerman

Brawerman Elementary School is a Reform Jewish day school with two campuses. The original West campus was founded in 1999 in a modern facility located in West Los Angeles. The East campus opened in fall 2011 in the heart of L.A.'s Koreatown, in the historic Wilshire Boulevard Temple. We are a tight-knit community with a high level of collaboration among the faculty and an active parent body. We continue to seek creative and passionate educators who enjoy being part of a team and who are committed to learning and using innovative pedagogy.

Responsibilities

  • Work collegially with diverse faculty in a fast-paced environment
  • Establish a multitude of student accounts at the start of the academic year
  • Assist students, ranging in grade level kindergarten to grade 6, in a variety of applications during scheduled technology lab classes
  • Photograph and document student activity during technology classes
  • Manage and edit student files, including (compilation of) video, for web publication
  • Troubleshoot computer lab technical issues and interface with IT department for support to maintain, update, arrange for repair, move, connect, and recycle of computers and peripherals
  • Order, track, inventory, and store physical lab equipment including, but not limited to, robots, hard drives, cameras, headsets, mice, and drawing tablets
  • Maintain an effective relationship with companies and vendors for technology purposes and coordinate with their support teams for resolving issues or repair

    Required Qualifications

    • Excellent knowledge and experience using Apple hardware and a variety of productivity and education applications running on OS and iOS including, but not limited to Google Drive, Scratch, Photoshop, Premiere or iMovie
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving procedures and techniques
    • Good understanding of electronics, including the use of 3D printing, a maker mindset, and design thinking methodologies
    • Working understanding networked environments
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
    • Flexible interpersonal and customer service skills as well as strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, climb ladders, and work with a wide variety of tools including, but not limited to, box cutters, scissors, and hot glue guns
