The Role

The Lumen Sr. Analyst performs complex activities related to property tax ensuring data/information is accurate, timely and complete. Activities include preparing property tax returns, tax payments, tax expense accruals, reconciliations and research. Frequently contributes to the development of new processes and methods. Uses judgment within broadly defined policies and practices. Demonstrates detailed knowledge of professional discipline. Uses several techniques to solve complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review and analysis of several factors.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare ad valorem annual state and local returns and negotiate values as assigned.
  • Research ad valorem tax billing notices.
  • Respond timely to notices received from state and local taxing authorities.
  • Understanding of centrally assessed property tax.
  • Approve payments, as necessary.
  • Ability to identify automation opportunities and implement identified strategies
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Research property tax reduction strategies.
  • Liaison with accounting, tax accounting, and treasury departments to obtain and analyze necessary tax information.
  • Assist with audits, appeals and budgeting.
What We Look For in a Candidate

Required

  • Typically, 3+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Telecom experience helpful.
  • Superior skills in all Microsoft office products, PowerPoint, Alteryx.
  • In-depth knowledge of property tax laws, filing requirement and due dates.
  • Tax related research.
Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$ $85300 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.
$ $89780 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.
$ $94270 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
$ $98760 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
