Position Summary
ProHealth Partners Medical Group has a full-time employment opportunity for a board-certified (or board-eligible) Gastroenterologist for the GI Hospitalist team serving MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. Candidates with proven leadership abilities and experience may be considered for a Medical Directorship.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The GI Hospitalist will be responsible for inpatient coverage, consults, and proceduresSuccessful candidates will have expertise and experience treating a broad range of gastrointestinal conditionsMust be skilled in basic upper and lower endoscopy, enteral access, and management of GI emergencies (variceal / ulcer bleeding, food impactions, volvulus)Advanced endoscopy training is beneficial100% Hospital-based, inpatient roleEMR system: EpicQualificationsCompletion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in GastroenterologyBoard certification in Gastroenterology (or board eligible)Must possess or be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of CaliforniaDEA registrationCurrent BLS and DEARequirements, Schedule and Program SupportSchedule is 7 days on and 7 days off from 7am to 7pm and call between 7pm and 7am with strong subspecialty support; Night call can be taken from home with an expectation to come in for GI bleeds (hospitalist will stabilize non-bleeds for next day)Supported by 2 GI PAsTherapeutic endoscopy and back up support availableFinancial and Benefits InformationCompetitive base salary with productivity incentiveBenefits stipendProfessional liability insuranceAbout MemorialCare Long Beach Medical CenterMemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center has been recognized as a major regional provider of medical and surgical services.
