Pay Range:
$39-45

  • Responsible for all associated parts assigned MRP messages including but not limited to buy, expedite, defer and cancel.
  • Work with home site and engineering with any DCR communication to assigned commodity or supplier as directed by the commodity supervisor.
  • Ensure supplier metrics are established and met
  • Ensuring BSP is updated for assigned supplier and parts, working with home site and suppliers to move toward a 100 goal for BSP usage.
  • Purchases materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures, driving the optimization of price, delivery, and terms; typically purchases $3-5 million per year; does become involved in the development of products at Suppliers; Items are typically build-to-print items, often involving old, complex, or obsolete designs, sole or single source technology, or items such as machined parts that include many sequential fabrication steps throughout the process.
  • Owns the Performance of assigned suppliers, particularly Delivery, Cost and Capacity/Recovery (to MRP health) Schedule performance, including the diagnosis and escalation of issues impacting production in these areas; Supplier Quality resources are in place to assist with these @types of Supplier deficiencies, but Buyer support is needed often.
  • Reviews and issues purchase requisitions; follows up and expedites as necessary.
  • Works cross-functionally, especially with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Materials, Receiving, Inspection, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, & Production Planning to coordinate purchase timing, quantities, pricing, and goods delivery/storage, in support of business goals around output, efficiency, and cost of inventory.
  • Performs other related duties & projects as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree and/ or (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with JDE MRP / ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structure.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and identify material call-outs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Aerospace procurement.
  • Understanding of and participation in the AS9100 Quality Requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility with, interact with, and influence suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders; Ability to build strong relationships.

  • Shows initiative when working independently or in a team.
  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
