Salary: $22.00-$24.00/hr. DOE

Position Overview: The Customer Account Representative is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day shipping activities relating to the scheduling of trucks, receiving and releasing orders, and inventory management. In addition, this role is responsible for resolving product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint, determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; and following up to ensure resolution.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.

· Provide exceptional customer service via email or phone by anticipating and responding to customer requests, questions, or complaints.

· Complete necessary research, to solve customer issues.

· Successfully prioritize, track, monitor and follow up on outstanding items. Escalate to supervisor or manager as appropriate.

· Schedule pick-ups and deliveries for finished goods and materials.

· Resolve shipping or inventory variances.

· Research and authorize carrier detention charges.

· Work with I.T. to provide customers with feedback to improve reporting and efficiencies.

· Cross train on other Customer Account Representative customers and tasks.

· Run daily/monthly reports for customers relating to inventory levels, product shipments, production, adjustments, and products on hold.

· Look up, edit, release, and receive orders using various warehouse management systems.

· Participate in the resolution of customer issues with lift truck operators and Warehouse Leads and Supervisors.

· Prepare customer orders for the next day including but not limited to, manually entering non-EDI orders, editing, releasing and receiving orders in appropriate warehouse management systems.

· Complete month end duties including but not limited to, ensuring sales orders are closed, reconciling outstanding orders, cancelling orders that won't ship, working with customers regarding cutoff times and posting in AS400 to ensure financials are properly closed at month end.

· Make decisions regarding cutting orders, substituting items, and delaying product pick up based on customer requirements.

· Track and report accessorial charges to warehouse management.

· Schedule and attend weekly customer meetings with Contract Sales team.

· Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.

· Work scheduled shift, weekends, and extended hours as required.

· Perform all other duties as assigned.

· Regular and punctual attendance.

  • Basic knowledge of office equipment, fax machine, copier/scanner, telephones, and computer.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • 3-5 years Customer Service experience required;
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment: In the office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. On occasion, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, moving vehicles, and cold/hot temperatures, while working in the Warehouse.
