The primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, repair, and modify large/complex Heating/Cooling systems (includes heating boilers, single fuel power boilers, steam heating boilers systems), ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems.

Duties

Troubleshoots a variety of HV AC/R systems to include large commercial, industrial, air conditioning, refrigeration systems and supporting equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgment to locate malfunctions.

Utilizes safety practices and procedures, follows established safety rules and regulations, and maintains a safe and clean work environment.

  • Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs, and maintains a variety of complex hot water and steam heating boilers and/or heating systems, single and multiple fuel power boilers, and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains purpose built environmental control units designed to maintain cooling, heating, humidification/dehumidification, and air quality with complex problems and requiring extensive preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Plans, lays out and installs a variety of large complex commercial and industrial systems and supporting equipment used to condition air in warehouses, shops, hangars, and large office buildings from electrical/electronic wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, blueprints, drawings, electrical/plumbing codes, and work orders.
  • Performs essential and incidental electrical work to the maintenance and operation of HV AC/R and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems. Performs preventive maintenance on HV AC/R systems and electronic control systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and assist with calibration.
