Job Summary and QualificationsAs a NICU Registered Nurse (RN), you will work with pediatricians and physicians to provide care to newborn babies specifically preterm babies and infants up to the age of two years. You will also introduce new mothers to caring for their newborns and you may give additional care to mothers and infants whove undergone cesarean section procedures.
What you will do in this role:
- Utilize the nursing process in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Provide, assist, and supervise direct nursing care to patients, in accordance with physicians orders.
- Recognize nursing techniques, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate's degree or higher.
- Current State of Florida Registered RN License or recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
- Current BLS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- One or more years of experience as a Level II NICU RN.
- Current National Neonatal High-Risk Nursing and STABLE certifications preferred.
HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. This program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. We are affiliated with HCA Florida Healthcare Division. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida. We serve as Miami-Dade County's only Catholic hospital. We follow the Catholic tradition of caring for God's people and providing spiritual support. We are dedicated to our mission of caring for the physical and spiritual needs of all the people we serve.
