Assist in the overall supervision and administration of project safety, accountability, accident prevention, and training programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. The dispatch yard will be in located in Canandaigua, NY.

Essential Functions
  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with project management and supervisory personnel.
  • Assist in the supervision and administration of EH&S-related activities.
  • Participate in developing and conducting staff and craft safety orientation and training programs.
  • Conduct work area surveillance inspections, and air-sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage, and personal injury investigations.
  • Document all accidents, EH&S violations, unsafe conditions, and activities. Issue confined area entry and "hot work" permits as required.
  • Accompany EH&S, health, and insurance inspections on walk-through tours as required.
  • Review EH&S-related journals, catalogs, etc. to keep abreast of changes or improvements in protective safety equipment, materials, and gear.
  • Perform additional assignments per the supervisor's direction.
  • Issues direction to all site EH&S Representatives where applicable.
  • Participate in client calls/meetings. Assist in the development and personation information or documents for such meetings.
Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical construction/maintenance, preferably Transmission & Distribution.
  • 4-year occupational safety and health degree plus a minimum of 3+ years of construction or industrial safety experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
  • Previous safety supervisory and/or management experience is strongly preferred. Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal state, local, and company EH&S regulations required.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
  • Familiarity with basic MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Physical/Special Requirements

Work may involve standing and walking for extended periods. This may include lifting up to 10 lbs. to conduct safety training. Work is conducted outdoors to monitor and support field crews.

New York law requires pay information in job postings. The typical hiring range for this position in New York is shown below. The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.

Hiring range: $100,000 per year to $125,000 per year
