The town of Lexington seeks qualified applicants for the full-time (35 hours/week) position of Department Assistant in the Select Board Office.

Under the general supervision of the Office Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating and performing a variety of administrative tasks and specialized functions to support the overall operation of the office.

Receives the public, both in person and over the telephone, and responds to their inquiries; maintains filing systems; compiles and prepares annual licensing reports; processes license and permit applications, posts meetings and prepares materials for meetings; provides support to numerous boards and committees and prepares and processes warrants for all Town Meetings and elections.

Qualified applicants will have an associate degree or its equivalent, as well as a minimum of two years of administrative support experience.


Anticipated hiring range:
$27.43-$31.26 per hour.
