OR

B- Combination of education and experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:

1. Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1 , or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. (The above examples of related curricula are not all-inclusive.)

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience in tactical dissemination of information to include data architectures, messaging, data protocols and security; 2) Providing system engineering and integration support for major Department of Defense systems such as networking, line of sight and beyond line of site communications, Mission Command software applications, and information technology hardware and software; 3) Providing guidance of work for personnel engaged in the planning, development, or coordination of programs for complex and sophisticated systems; and, 4) Implementing system engineering processes during all product life cycle phases for Department of Defense procured subsystems, systems or system of systems.
